Remember These Timeless'80s Bands?
I
was driving down the highwaythe other day when I heard a blast from the past. It was TwistedSister's 'We're Not Gonna Take It.' Do you remember them? I loved the'80s! Mohawk haircuts, big hair, fingerless lace gloves, leg warmers,Rubik's Cube, Shrinky Dinks, Smurfs ... the list could go on forever.Iwondered if people were as nostalgic about the '80s as I am. I decidedto find out what the most popular '80s big-hair bands were on AOLSearch. To my surprise, I found out many people are still curious aboutthe '80s big-hair bands.

KISS , who formed in the'70s, were classically known for their crazy face painting but decidedin the '80s to add some Aqua-net. Other bands such as Cinderella,Whitesnake and we can't forget Poison competed with them for thehighest teased hair dos.Speaking of Poison, lead singer Bret Michaelsnow has his own reality show called 'Rock of Love', where 25 womencompete to win a date with him. The hit show just ended season two andfans are wondering ... will there be a season three? Other '80s bandssuch as Aerosmith and Motley Crue have toned down their hair and arestill performing concerts for all their fans. Guns N' Roses isseemingly more famous these days for the album they won't release.

Do you have a favorite'80s big-hair band that did not show up on the list? If so, please tellus about them. Try searching for '80s big-hair bands on AOL Search orcheck out AOL Music for more 80s Bands. Also check out Spinner.com forband breakups or worst band photos.

From Kim Hayes:--ROCKOLOGY REVIEW FROM OVERSTOCK.COM 9/28/05

Personnel includes: Eric Carr (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, bass, drums); Bruce Kulick (acoustic & electric guitars); Adam Mitchell (keyboards). This posthumous collection of material from former Kiss drummer Eric Carr shows that besides being a premier skinsman he was also a formidable songwriter and vocalist. ROCKOLOGY presents 11 tracks recorded during Carr`s Kiss tenure; he sings lead on six of them, while ex-associate and current Union guitarist Bruce Kulick performs guitar duties.

"Eyes Of Love" is a Kiss-like heavy rock tune, while "Somebody`s Waiting" reveals a stylized metal voice. "Just Can`t Wait" is a pop instrumental highlighted by Carr`s Bonham-inspired playing. "Nightmare," a live demo, shows the session work and arrangement behind a killer metal anthem, and "Too Cool For School" blends the Beach Boys and Bon Jovi, while "Tiara" is a beautiful electric piano ballad. "Can You Feel It" and "Nasty Boys," both with straight up pop metal hooks, conclude this long overdue collection. Both hardcore Kiss fans and `80s hair band aficionados will want to pick up ROCKOLOGY. It`s great material by an artist whose talents are given a chance to shine.
